How do I delete Brother PC-FAX software ?

mfessler

Question

I installed the Brother “Full Driver & Software Package” for my MFC-L2700DW. The first time it asked if I wanted to install the PC-FAX software, which I did.

The "Control Panel - View Devices and Printers - Printers and Scanners" shows only the PC-FAX. I did find the L2700 Printer in "More Devices and Printer Settings" and set it as the Default.

The lower taskbar > Show hidden items, shows the PC-FAX instead of the printer.

During the course of installing / re-installing apps and restoring a drive image, I’ve had to reinstall the Brother driver package a few times. Sometimes the Printer shows up in “View Devices and Printers - Printers and Scanners" & sometimes the PC-FAX does which seems to happen most of the time & how it is now.

I used the Brother uninstall software. When re-installing the driver package it does not ask if you want to install the PC-FAX software. It just installs it. It seems to only ask this the first time the driver package is installed after a fresh install of Windows 11 or after restoring a drive image created before the Brother software was installed.

Thought I’d uninstall only the PC-FAX software but cannot find an option to do that or where it’s located.

Everything works but it would be nice to have the printer device show up in the lower task bar & in Printers and Scanners, and the PC-FAX in More Devices.

Any ideas how to uninstall just the PC-FAX software?
Thanks
