So I got a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and all was good at the start when I would boot up the keyboard would come on like it should, But following an update I started to have issues where when I would boot up the keyboard would not turn on can't type and back lighting not working but if I did a restart the keyboard would become active.

I spoke with geek squad at bestbuy as it seems they are the ones doing the warranty support and at first the 1 line tech indicated it was a known issue but they had a fix for it and he had me download an update. I then got off the chat as it would require a restart in the process but mid way through the install it failed and gave me an error code.
I reconnected with geek squad and the tech looked up the code and suggested that it might be because it was missing another update which he gave me but this time when I tried installing the update I noticed it had a filing cabinet type icon and double clicking the file instead opened a folder containing over 4500 files.
So this time I physically called geek squad and spoke with a tech who did a remote access to try and sort out the issue but he was unable to so he sent me to the next level of tech to dig in deeper but this tech told me that this was a known issue but he also told me that microsoft knew of the issue but was working on a fix so I would have to wait for the fix to come out, but being the video above is 4 months old it has me wondering who was right at bestbuy the first tech I spoke with or the advance tech being this seems to be an issue that's been around a bit.
So anyways does anyone know of this issue and if there is a solution to it? Being it's a known issue due to an update I have not tried much except to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard but that didn't help. System still has to be restarted in order for the keyboard to activate.
So any solutions to this issue or is there an update on when this fix might come out???
