Got a new graphics card and was forced to upgrade to windows 11. Ever since then the pc has been giving me hell.
When the computer is turned on after shut down or hibernation, it freezes within 5-15 seconds of starting up. There is nothing I can do besides holding the power button and forcing shut down. This normally happens 3-5 times, then the pc works fine and I can play games and do anything as normal for hours on end with no freezing or other issues. The problem only seems to happen within the first 15 seconds.
I’ve done a fresh windows install twice, the issue persists. I try to do a full system wipe to reset my hardware back to factory settings, it fails and won’t let me wipe my drives clean. Any auto recovery stuff all fails. If I use sfc /scannow the computer recognizes that there are corrupt files but refuses to fix them. Also tried the following in powershell, none of it fixed the issue:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start bits
