Hi folks
A lot of those older laptops with only 8GB RAM in them can usually pretty easily be updated to 16GB RAM (well worth it) very cheaply (around €25). The problem is usually that there is only 1 slot for the RAM -- and until recently only a single 8GB RAM card was available. Now there are 16 GB single cards available and even if these are DDR4 they still usually work in quite old laptops. Most laptops are easily opened and the RAM easily replaced.
If you've a working laptop with 8GB RAM only -- don't chuck it away -- a €25 upgrade to 16GB is well worth it especially if you run Windows 11 and any VM's. Look for bargains on Amazon etc.
