I noticed that many members of this forum enjoy restoring older hardware so I thought I would share. I'm currently restoring my X99 work station. Yup. It's old but I miss it. Right now it's sort of in pieces. I just finished blowing the dust out of the components with an air compressor. I was going to move the system board to an older Cooler Master case but I changed my mind. I'll be putting a newer X299 in the Cooler Master case. The X99 will be staying in the Thermal Take Level 10 GT case. Originally this build ran with approximately 30 data physical drives although many of these were in various RAID configurations. Anyone currently restoring older hardware is invited to share here. I'm always interested in learning new tricks for restoring older hardware and keeping it out of the recycling stations.
