Using a MCT, I am doing a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro without internet access on one of my laptops on October 16. I am not against Windows 11 but I am against telemetry. I don’t like Microsoft shoving things down my throat.
I have backed up all my drivers. I have all my free and paid software (including Office 2019) waiting. I have no use for security patches as I am using a free antivirus software. Hopefully I don’t have to deal with Edge, Bing and Copilot. If they still exist on my platform, I will get rid of them for good. This includes OneDrive.
I have Windows 11 Pro on my new laptop. As for my other laptops, they are still on Windows 7,8.1 and 10 platforms.
I am considering a free third-party tool called UpDownTool that allegedly provides several more years of support for Windows 10. It converts my PC to Windows 10 LTSC (“Long-Term Servicing Channel”), which is a special cut-down version of Windows 10 that isn’t meant for general-use PCs. Windows 10 LTSC has regular support until January 12th, 2027 as well as extended support until January 13th, 2032.
