VIVETOOL, and how to use it...

 By enabling or disabling certain 8 digit "ID numbers", you
can turn Windows 11 features ON or OFF.


In many cases, Vivetool is the "only" way to enable/disable certain features.
Make sure you use 3rd party backup software, before you start "tweaking" Windows.​

Short version...

How to setup Vivetool (do one time only)

1. Go here and download ViVeTool-v0.3.4-IntelAmd.zip
2. Create a folder in C:\ called zVIVE (you can name the folder whatever you want)
3. Extract the contents of the .zip file you downloaded to: C:\zVIVE (or the folder name you chose)

How to use Vivetool

1. Open an elevated (as admin), command prompt.
2. Type: cd C:\zVIVE (use the folder name you chose)
3. When the prompt changes to... C:\zVive>, copy and paste one of the Vivetool ID numbers shown below...
4. Then reboot the computer, to apply the changes.




Here are some Vivetool ID numbers we know. (Windows 11 only)​

Use the opposite of enable or disable, to undo the changes.

vivetool /disable /id:51960011 <---- Fixes the File Explorer 3-dot menu bug in 24H2

vivetool /enable /id:39696859 <---- Restore the context menu in File Explorer's LEFT pane

vivetool /disable /id:44571814,44573982 <---- Remove "System" labels from START Menu

vivetool /enable /id:39263329 /variant:3 <---- Set search icon back to magnifying glass

vivetool /enable /id:41314201,41655236 <---- Enable "seconds" option in System clock settings.

vivetool /enable /id:44774629,44776738,44850061,42105254,41655236 <---- enable Copilot?


Some Release Preview (Insider) ID numbers, that will work on "public" 24H2.
Use the opposite of enable or disable, to undo the changes.

vivetool /enable /id:50564332 <---- Must do this first, to use Release Preview (Insider), ID numbers below.

vivetool /enable /id:49082522 <---- Adds Notification Bell "option" to the Notifications settings.

vivetool /enable /id:48525682 <---- Adds short or long, time/date "option" to the time/date Settings.
